Structure principle and advantages of induction quenching equipment


The induction quenching equipment consists of a power supply, a quenching machine tool, and quenching control equipment. Induction quenching equipment can be applied in multiple industries and has many advantages. What are the structural principles and advantages of induction quenching equipment?
Compared to surface quenching using flame heating, induction quenching has the following advantages:
① Heat is generated by the workpiece itself, resulting in low energy consumption and high thermal efficiency;
② Fast heating and cooling, less workpiece deformation, less oxidation decarburization, no need for further mechanical processing after quenching, which can save processing costs;
③ Easy to organize in the production line and achieve mass production;
④ No exhaust gas, less environmental pollution.
The power supply can be divided into power frequency, medium frequency, or high frequency, and is generally selected according to the quenching depth requirements of the workpiece. The shallower the quenching layer, the higher the power frequency should be. The output end of the power supply is equipped with a secondary voltage adjustable quenching transformer to reduce the voltage to meet the low voltage input requirements of the inductor.
The quenching machine tool mainly consists of a body, sensors, workpiece clamping and transmission mechanisms, etc. Sensors are usually wound with bare copper tubes, with only one or a few turns, and the surface is generally not insulated. Sensors often serve as cooling water sprayers for workpiece heating and water quenching. It can also be used for quenching situations such as oil, salt water, synthetic quenchants, or flowing air.
